Obituary for Scott Charles Winchester

Scott Charles Winchester, 62, of Rogers, passed away on January 25th, 2020 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ar. He was born March 5, 1957 in Geneva, Ohio to Russell and Dorothy Winchester.

Scott grew up and attended school in Geneva, Ohio and graduated from Ashland University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. He had a lifelong career in sales, and for the last 16 years was with Blue Rhino propane. He also loved giving back to his community and was a founding member of Congregation Etz Chaim.

Scott was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a charismatic, joyful, positive and fun person that loved to entertain and travel, as well as attending concerts and watching sports with his sons. Scott never met a stranger. His presence was larger than life, yet loving and kind to everyone, earning him the unofficial title as “Mayor of Rogers”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ann Lawson and infant son, Max.

Scott is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marcy; son Andrew Winchester of Fayetteville; son Sam Winchester of Fayetteville; sister Carolyn (Michael) Levine of West Hartford, CT; brother Russell Winchester of Youngstown, Ohio; mother in law Judy Rock of Delray Beach, FL and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends. A special thanks to the amazing staff at Highlands Oncology Group for the care and friendship given over the last 2 1/2 years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Embassy Suites Pinnacle Ballroom on Saturday, February 1st at 11 AM with the receiving line and a light reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Scott’s honor to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, Circle of Life Hospice, or a charity close to your heart.
